Well Drawing day 2008 is here! I am glad to say that I have and still am participating. It’s still not too late to draw, so break out your tools and draw! And, if you happen to miss it this year, no worries this event is going to be recurring every year. Check out the Drawing Day site. Remember any day is a good day to draw.
I really like perspective drawing and am trying to get good at it. It is the foundation for so many aspects of drawing. I am really interested in enviroment design, interiors, and exteriors so I’m going to have to get good at it. In the past I had been searching for a good perspective book but many of them were a let down. So I decided to try searching using the google book search and look for some free perspective drawing books. Low and behold I found one by the name Drawing Simplified. It was written in the late 1800s’ and is full of exercises. I don’t know about everyone else but this book is just what I needed. I love the fact that it is full of practice exercises to be done freehand. I suggest using this perspective book before going out and buying one. This one is free and can be downloaded in the pdf format. After you finish this book, then you can decide if you need one of the newer books. This is exactly what I am going to do.

I just found out about a wonderful event called Drawing Day 08. I encourage everyone no matter your drawing ability to participate. I am going to participate and hope you will too.
